The pick of our calf crop in 2018 and used as a yearling in the Spitzer Ranch Herd with his first calves on the ground in the spring of 2020. SR Chickasaw Warrior F817 is destined to be a herd sire and one-half interest was purchased by Burton Family Farms in SC. An MC Boulder 889Z14 son, he represents a unique combination of Mound Creek and Spitzer Ranch Genetics going back to the Catawba Warrior R532 bull on the dam side of the family tree. GE-EPD and a handful of calves now weaned indicate him to check all the boxes with a moderate BW, dramatic growth in WW & YW and top of the pack for MK & TM. Additionally, he will be a carcass improver with game changing REA and %IMF statistics. Top all that with additional high rankings for HEIF PREG, STAY and an outstanding FERT INDEX. What more could you demand of a youngster. We have huge expectations for F817 and will be using him AI on our cows again this year! Please check out his current GE-EPD in the link provided.

Genetics born in 2005 still being used in the Brangus breed today! TCB Catawba Warrior R352 became a SUMMIT SIRE early in his career as a herd sire and, once daughters were in the data base, has never missed being on the TRAIT LEADER LISTS for MK and TM.  With that he is known as siring cows with longevity, solid feet and near perfect udders. Additionally, with well over 1300 progeny in the Brangus system he is a bet-the-ranch, high-accuracy CURVE BENDER with consistently VERY LOW BW and yet HIGH YW rankings; doing all  that in a Frame Score 6 package . R532 was also used heavily and contributed to the Brazilian Brangus Registry System. A linebred sire with a moderate inbreeding coefficient, Cadence of Brinks 535D3 shows up on both sides of his pedigree. Deceased with limited semen available.

Cadence of Brinks 535D3 has been everyone’s “ole standby” for years. Used on every cow we could breed to him he certainly built the foundation of the entire Spitzer Ranch, LLC genetic program! With something over 2500 progeny in the Brangus Database, Cadence was an early SUMMIT SIRE who still excels as a LOW BW with HIGH YW CURVE BENDER. Additionally he continues to show up as a TRAIT LEADER for MK and TM. He early on bred the kind of females that keep registered cattle operations in business. He was born in 1994 and yet he still shows up in many Brangus pedigrees.

Aces TF Wrangler 145/8 was one of the first high %IMF EPD Brangus bulls to be produced way back in 1998. Along with a strong showing in maternal value with high rankings for MK and TM and very balanced growth traits, he quickly became a SUMMIT SIRE. He certainly deserves the credit for being the other foundation of Spitzer Ranch genetics. Our absolute best cows over time have been Wrangler X Cadence daughters. This includes the fantastically productive dam of Catawba Warrior R532 above and the Cadence X Wrangler combination stands out in a majority of our cow herd today.

When looking for a bull to tie us back to Cadence and still have enough difference in pedigree to reduce inbreeding, MC Playbook 468Y3 seemed a logical choice. His mother, Miss Brinks Cadence 468G15 is probably the best known Cadence daughter in the breed and without a doubt has well earned the title SUMMIT COW! Playbook maintains our goal of creating CURVE BENDER bulls with LOW BW and HIGH YW EPD. Additionally he somewhat moderated MK and yet maintains HIGH TM. Then you just have to admire his excellent phenotype. Another huge plus is the disposition on Playbook is amazing and he maybe the most gentle, laid back bull we have observed in our many years of breeding Brangus.
